Move beyond the software basics and build the confidence to design predictable chairside restorations yourself.

CEREC gives clinicians the ability to take control of the restorative workflow but achieving consistently good results requires more than knowing which buttons to press.

This intensive hands on course focuses on the practical design skills required for same day crowns, onlays and short span bridges, helping you understand how to assess, refine and optimise a restoration before it ever reaches the milling stage.

You'll work through the design process with a focus on the decisions that matter clinically: margins, contacts, occlusion, morphology and restoration form. The aim is to develop a repeatable design workflow that makes chairside CAD/CAM feel more controlled, efficient and predictable.

Everything taught is designed with clinical implementation in mind, giving you techniques and workflows you can begin applying the very next day.

What you'll learn

During the course, you will:

  • Develop a structured approach to the CEREC restorative design workflow.
  • Work through the digital design of crowns, onlays and short span bridges.
  • Understand how to assess and refine digital margins before progressing a restoration.
  • Develop greater confidence managing proximal contacts and occlusal relationships.
  • Learn how to assess and modify restoration morphology, anatomy and contours.
  • Understand the additional considerations involved when progressing from a single restoration to a short span bridge.
  • Learn how to critically assess a proposed digital design rather than simply accepting the software's initial proposal.
  • Recognise common design problems and understand how to correct them efficiently.
  • Understand how decisions made during CAD design influence the milling, finishing and clinical delivery stages.
  • Develop a more efficient and repeatable approach to chairside restorative design.

Course aims & objectives

The aim of this course is to give clinicians greater independence and confidence when designing restorations in CEREC.

By the end of the day, delegates should be able to approach crowns, onlays and short span bridges using a logical design sequence and understand the key clinical considerations that should be assessed before a restoration is manufactured.

Rather than relying on default proposals, you'll develop the skills to critically evaluate and refine your own designs.

This course is designed for dentists using CEREC who want to improve their chairside CAD design skills and become more confident designing their own restorations.

It is particularly suited to clinicians who understand the fundamentals of digital dentistry but want a more structured approach to crowns, onlays and short span bridges before progressing into more advanced aesthetic workflows.
