Master the Full Arch: Medit SmartX, Implant Scan Bodies & Predictable All on X Records
09 OCTOBER 2027 · THE MARKET CROSS, BURY ST EDMUNDS
One intensive hands on masterclass designed to make full arch digital records more accurate, more predictable and more clinically usable.
Full arch implant scanning demands more than simply capturing the anatomy. Scan strategy, implant position, reference geometry, scan body capture and data quality all influence the accuracy of the final record and small errors at the scanning stage can carry forward into the restorative workflow.
This practical course takes you through a structured Scan Ladder full arch workflow, combining implant scan bodies with Medit SmartX to help you understand not just how to capture the record, but how to recognise whether the data you have captured can be trusted.
Working hands on, you’ll develop a repeatable approach to full arch data acquisition that you can take back into practice and begin applying the very next day.
What you'll learn
During the masterclass, you will:
- Understand why full arch digital records fail and where inaccuracies can enter the workflow.
- Develop a structured full-arch scanning strategy designed to maintain continuity and reduce stitching error.
- Learn how to use Scan Ladder reference geometry to support reliable cross arch scanning.
- Understand the importance of scan body position, orientation and complete geometry capture.
- Learn a deliberate scanning sequence - establishing central reference geometry before progressing systematically across the arch.
- Work with Medit SmartX and understand how scan body data is recognised, aligned and managed within the digital workflow.
- Learn what to look for during scanning so you can identify incomplete, unreliable or poorly captured data before it progresses further.
- Understand how implant-position data, soft tissue anatomy and reference geometry come together to create a complete digital record.
- Build greater confidence in deciding when a full arch scan is genuinely ready to move into the restorative workflow.
Course aims & objectives
The aim of this course is to move beyond simply being able to take a full arch scan.
By the end of the day, delegates should understand the principles that underpin a reliable full arch digital record and be able to apply a structured workflow for acquiring, assessing and validating scan data.
The course combines clinical principles, digital workflow understanding and hands on application, allowing you to see how each stage of data acquisition affects what happens next.
What you'll leave with
You won't leave with a workflow you've only watched someone else perform.
You'll leave with:
A repeatable scanning strategy.
A clear sequence for approaching full arch implant scans rather than relying on trial and error.
A better understanding of Scan Ladder.
Understand how its reference geometry is used within the full-arch workflow and how to capture it effectively.
Practical Medit SmartX experience.
Develop confidence working with Scan Ladder data within SmartX and recognising what successful capture and alignment should look like.
The ability to assess your own records.
Know what to check before accepting a scan and progressing the case.
Greater confidence with All on X digital workflows.
Understand how the individual records come together and why the quality of the initial data matters downstream.
A workflow you can apply in practice the next day.
The focus throughout the course is practical clinical application - turning the principles taught during the day into a process you can reproduce in your own cases.
Who is this course for?
This masterclass is designed for clinicians working with, or looking to progress into, digital full arch implant dentistry and All on X workflows.
It is particularly suited to clinicians who already use intraoral scanning but want to improve their understanding of full arch accuracy, implant scan bodies, reference geometry and predictable data acquisition.
